the image on the front of the 1994 newsweek is the actual mugshot of oj simpson. next to it, the front cover of the 1994 time magazine, is the same mugshot and clearly altered to make oj look "darker" and thereby more menacing. i chose this comparison of the front covers because i thought it was interesting how easily that a few alterations to a photo can turn a innocent-until-proven-guilty man into a criminal (though he still doesn't look very innocent in the original mugshot anyway...).time magazine alteration by matt mahurin
